A little bit of sunshine on a day of remembrance
by Beth Fiscus | 8 years ago
Hello friends! Beth from the DCWV Social Media Design Team here. While today is definitely an important day of remembrance, I hope it's also a day to remember the sunshine (blessings) in our life. Crafting is one of those for me (right after my family!), that is for sure! Crafts with gold foil especially brighten my day!
Speaking of gold foil, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to share this project with all of you! I am in love with it. All of it. The colors, the paper treatments, etc. But I am getting ahead of myself. Here it is in all of its Fall glory...
First, I started by making the largest pumpkin from DCWV's DIY Project Stack: Pumpkins (Available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft stores). Those things are amazing! I love that the papers in that stack look like mercury glass.

Next I used the Lia Griffith/DCWV stack "Fall Paper Flowers" and created one of each of the large flowers in that stack. Click HERE to see Lia's assembly video. I also created two of the small mum flowers and 3 of the gold succulents to fill in. The leaves in that stack also came in very handy as I was arranging the flowers. All of the papers in that stack have a beautiful pearl finish on them. Love it!
For the finishing touch, I used a tag from Lia Griffith Tags and Labels set. It coordinated perfectly with the centerpiece! I tied it around the pumpkin stem with Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.
And here is a close up view of the pumpkin that is so pretty! This is the largest pumpkin size in the DCWV DIY Project Stack: Pumpkins and I used gold and copper on it.
Are you interested in seeing what these stacks look like? Here are flip through videos that I created for you!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day! Let us know what you do with these stacks by tagging your creations with @DCWVinc.
