Altered Christmas Gift Box
by Yolie Burke | 8 years ago
Hello this is Yolie with the Social Media Design Team. I have a quick project to share with you today.
I saved this chocolate box from last year, it was too pretty to toss out in the recycle bin. With that said, a little TLC is called for. I used DCWV Christmas Plaid 12"x12" Stack available at your local Jo-Ann to do the job.The box has beautiful green foil along the edge, so I didn't cover the edges. I also used Scor Tape, Glue Dots, my Fiskars paper trimmer, hot glue, ruler, ribbon and enamel dots.
I measured the area that I wanted to cover and chose several different pattern papers. I really love the cut out sheet "Let heaven and nature sing" so I used 2 of the cardinal prints to go with the theme.
I partially covered the bottom of the box with green plaid—the silver foil was too pretty cover up. I just needed enough to cover the chocolate logo.
I also embellished with red enamel dots.
I added a red wire ribbon to the top of the box to make a wreath and adhered it with hot glue.
I hope you enjoyed my altered Christmas gift box. Now to fill it with yummy craft items. Thank you for visiting today.
