Confetti is fun for everyday!

Hi everyone! It’s Social Media Design team member Karen H., and I have a confession to make! Years ago, when I started crafting, I never thought that scrapbooking would be for me. I remember going to a crafting party and making cards instead of layouts because I just didn’t get what scrapbooking was all about! Then I had my two girls and everything changed. All of a sudden, scrapbooking made total sense, and not just for memories I was making with my girls, but also those in my everyday life.
Lately, paper crafting has taken on all sorts of different forms, and I have to admit that I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by the possibilities. But when I get back to putting a layout together, it is always a joyful experience. I get to look at pictures, play with paper, experiment with new techniques (or just go back to the tried and true) and remember. And at the end of the day, scrapbooking is my crafting “happy place”. So today, I am sharing a happy place moment with you!
The 12x12 Confetti stack available at Jo-Ann is fun and playful new stack. Although the stack would be perfect for birthday layouts, cards, banners and favours, I thought the stack was also a perfect playful, every-day stack. I decided to use it to capture the first time I bought my youngest daughter a stuffed animal – although she was all smiles as it rubbed up against her face, she was also fast asleep even before I could put my camera down!
This stack has all sorts of great elements that make pulling together a layout so easy! I loved the cute little “Sprinkled with Love” tag that was available in the stack and used it as the title for the layout (topped with a bow for some added texture).
And although the paper is already fantastically topped with shiny foil dots and lettering, I decided to play up even more of them by adding some Glossy Accents on top for a shiny look. The hardest part was being patient and waiting for them to dry before I topped off the layout with a few layers of paper and the cute photos. I can’t wait to work with this stack again and get my hands on the adorable confetti-filled pouches also available in the stack!
From start to finish (including drying time), this layout took me less than 30 minutes to complete – 30 minutes that I spent playing with great products and remembering what my littlest gal was like in those early months. I would say it was definitely time well spent in my happy place!
Thanks for stopping by!
