Cute Teacher Gifts and DIY Stacks

by Jaclyn R | 9 years ago

Hello DCWV friends and fans, it’s Jaclyn from the DCWV Social Media Team.  I’m sure many of you are feeling the crunch of the end of the school year and the long list of activities and responsibilities that go along with it.  My kids are only a couple days away from finishing out their last days for this year, which means that I’ve been tasked with the job of crafting and preparing the teacher gifts. I typically like to give a gift card to those hard working teachers, but being a crafter, I like to package it in a cute and creative way.  The Favor Box DIY Project Stack was the perfect starting point for this project.

I used the Cupcake Box and Mini Cupcake/Truffle Box patterns to make this sweet packaging.  I went with a bit of an apple theme for the gifts, so I couldn’t resist turning my handmade gift boxes into apples, too!

Constructing the boxes out of a red base of patterned papers was my first step in making them look ‘apple-like’.  The paper I selected was from the same stack and was double sided to allow each of the gift boxes to coordinate, yet be a bit different.  Once constructed, a simple tie of ribbon ensures that the boxes stay closed and the contents are secure. I used additional papers from the Cone Wreath DIY Project Stack to hand cut some leaves to tie to the ribbon and finish off the apple look.

Since the boxes were so quick and easy to put together, that left me with time to kick the theme up another notch with stamped and personalized tags I completed with various supplies from my stash.

Oftentimes the presentation of the gift can be just as important and cherished as it’s contents.  I know I’ll be reaching for the Favor Box DIY Project Stack again and again, to customize my gift packaging and make my recipients feel extra special!
