DCWV “Ahoy” Journal Cover Tutorial with Karen
by Karen J | 9 years ago
Hi there,
Karen here, sharing a great journal cover that I created using the Seaside Yacht stack. I love this nautical collection. It’s perfect for this time of year. The stack includes printed linen and beautiful coordinating patterns. I’m including an easy tutorial below that you can tailor to any theme of choice:
Supplies
DCWV Stack: Seaside Yacht (1st Layer – 6 x 9 ¾, 2nd Layer – 6 X 9 ¾, Patterned Strips, Journaling Spots)
Trimmer
Journal
Ribbon (2 coordinating patterns)
Star Pins
Xyron Adhesive
3D Tape
Hot Glue
Step 1: Run patterned papers though Xyron machine.
Step 2: Adhere 1st layer of coordinating patterned papers to right side of journal cover. Adhere 2nd layer to the left side of the journal, overlapping the 1st layer and covering the binding. Note: When adhering the 2nd layer, you should have 3 inches on the front side of the journal and the remaining 3 inches on the back cover.
Step 3: Adhere a patterned strip of paper and ribbon to the journal.
Step 4: Add an additional coordinating patterned paper strip.
Step 5: Layer patterned papers and journaling spots together.
Step 6: Adhere layered focal image on to journal using 3D tape.
Step 7: Add bow and star pins using hot glue. Continue embellishing as desired.
