DIY envelopes

Hi DCWV friends, it's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today.  Aside from scrapbooking and papercrafting I have a love for baking - and more specifically, cookie decorating.  I'm often gifting my baked creations to family, friends or neighbors and I can't seem to pass those goodies along on a simple paper plate or in a bland Tupperware container.  So, naturally, I'm always reaching for my papercrafting supplies to help me deliver my treats in a fun and festive way.

With Valentine's Day at the end of the week, I've been cranking out dozens and dozens of heart-shaped cookies.  I wanted a fun way to gift these treats and was thrilled to find the treat sleeve in the Envelopes DIY Project Stack.  Once constructed, it is the perfect size to hold a half dozen or so mini cookies, and there is a variety of colors and patterns in the stack to fit just about any occasion.  I chose a pretty pink ombre, text, and black and white arrow pattern to compliment the Valentine theme.

Since the flaps on the sleeve are long, they easily wrap around the bulky contents and keep the cookies secure.

I wanted to give my recipient a peek at what was inside the sleeve, so I cut a small circle-shaped window out of the front portion.  My cookies are enclosed in a clear bag, so while the window reveals a peek, the treats remain secure inside.

A simple bit of ribbon, stamped sentiment, punched heart and DCWV gem sticker finish off the design and presentation of my baked goodies.
