More masculine cards...just in time for Fathers Dad prep!

by mlloyd | 8 years ago

Hi everyone!  It’s Social Media Design Team member Karen, and I have a bit of a “continuation” post for you today! A couple of months ago, I shared a post in which I showcased a bunch of masculine cards I had made with the Treasures stack available at Michaels.  I have confession to make – I was holding out on a few!  Once I got started with the stack, I had a hard time stopping, even though I typically find masculine-themed cards and projects difficult!  This stack was so much fun to work with that I got all of the birthday cards done for the men in my life, as well as the pair that I wanted to share with you today – a couple of fun Father’s Day cards.

For this set, I decided to work with the fun typewriter key patterned paper from the stack.  It’s a great print not only because of the vintage feel, high contrast images, and glossy finish, but also because it is filled with letters – letters you can cut out to create fun messages, words, names, etc.

I played a little bit of “Where’s Waldo” and found a selection of “d”s and a few “a”s that I cut out and pieced together to add on top of a few tags also cut from the stack.  I slightly distressed the edges of the tags and then added them to the card base using some foam adhesive squares for a bit of dimension.  Topped with a bit of silk ribbon in masculine colours, I love the fact that these cards look vintage but polished at the same time!

Now, while Father’s Day is pretty late this year, it is already June 1st (how did that happen?), so go grab this stack and get crafty!

Thanks for stopping by!
