Nesting Boxes 2 Ways – Wedding DIY
by Tessa B | 9 years ago
Have you seen DCWV’s nesting boxes on the shelves at JoAnn stores? They come in white, gray, kraft and assorted brights. Each cube has a lid and they range from a sizable gift box to itty-bitty. In preparing for my sister’s recent wedding, I turned to these versatile boxes for both her shower and her reception.
I was in charge of the prizes for the bride’s shower games, so I packaged Blue Moon Beads’ Bracelet Bar bracelets in several of the nesting boxes. I chose the white boxes and simply decorated with peach tulle (one of her wedding colors) and a silk flower. The glossy finish of the white nesting boxes was perfect for the occasion.
For her wedding reception center pieces, she wanted to display succulents in a cube-style pot. She had a hard time finding the right shade of “concrete gray” in a square shape, so I suggested the gray nesting boxes.
We gave each side of the box a quick coat of textured stone spray paint to achieve the concrete feel, then planted the succulents. Because they don’t need much water, the paper boxes held up just fine. The tiny price tag was a bonus.
If you haven’t had a chance to play with these nesting boxes, I suggest a trip to JoAnn’s. From weddings to the everyday, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy crafting!
