Ornaments...it's never too early to start!

by Lisa Lahiff | 9 years ago

Hello there!  It's Lisa here from the Social Media Design Team. I am so excited to share some super fun and easy Christmas ornaments I have made using the new DIY Project Stack: Ornaments.  I've taken some photos to show you just how easy these are to make…

First, I cut out the pattern found in the back of the stack and used it to trace onto several sheets of paper.  I then trimmed each traced image as shown above.  I then scored down the center of each ornament shape as you can see for the ornaments on the left side.

**Tip: when scoring the gold foil paper, make sure you run the score on the gold side of the paper to prevent any tearing**

2. Next, I began adhering one side of each ornament shape to the other with liquid glue. (And don't worry, there are great directions in the stack so you can better understand how to make your own ornaments.)  I chose to use a clip to hold the ornaments as they dried to help ensure the glue would hold.

3. After all sides are adhered, I used a small hole punch for the top of the ornament and the bottom.  I then used some super cute Snowflake charms by Blue Moon Beads and a piece of jewelry wire to attach it at the bottom.  I chose to tie my ornaments with twine.

The best thing about this stack is that these templates can be used on any DCWV stacks, so the themes and fun are endless!

Think these are fun? Wait until our blog hop next week with May Arts where there will be double the ideas!  And...as always, there will be chances to win some of these beauties!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a happy and safe Halloween weekend, and as always, Happy Crafting!

Lisa
