Oversized Cards—how do you make one that isn't too big on the outside but just big enough inside?

Hi everyone! It’s Social Media team member Karen, and today, I have a fun project to share with you using the new 16”x20” Premium Stack available at JoAnn.

When I first received this stack, I was struck by the idea of the large format greeting card that is pictured as one of the projects on the cover of the stack.  At work, we are always giving cards to staff members to celebrate special events in their lives, and sometimes to even say “goodbye”. There never seems to be enough room on a traditional card for messages from everyone, and although I love the idea of a great big card, I always wonder if people find a way to save and store these.  So I decided to create my own version of a card meant for multiple signatures that can also be kept as a memento quite easily. Quite frankly, it can also be used as a “not so mini” album or even a journal.

To finish off the card, I fussy-cut some pieces from the Linen Closet Stack (also available at JoAnn). 

I added a bit of coordinating ribbon from one of our partner companies – May Arts, and finished off each of the pages with a spot for messages and signatures using some simple white cardstock and a few coordinating strips of paper.

The quality of the paper makes it incredibly durable, and the metallic finish holds up very well to all the folding and scoring that happens to put the card together.

In the end, this simple technique using one piece of paper can be used in all sorts of ways!  The extra-large size of the papers in the stack really adds to the possibilities!  In fact, I think the silver one I created in the tutorial might just be turned into a mini for one of my daughters adventures in gymnastics class.  I see a future post in the making!  Let us know what you would use this paper for!
