Welcome Monique!

Hi everyone, it's Monique! Oh my gosh I am so excited to bring you my first DCWV Design Team Project.
Insert squeal here...lol
So let's get started on how I made this little 8 x 8 canvas.
First I started by using a print from the DCWV Color & Create Project Stack called Blossoms. Colored it with my Copic markers.
And then fussy cut the flowers out.
I then choose a script print from the DCWV 8"x8" The Maps, Text & Ledgers Stack.
I tore the edges of the page to give it a tattered look. I used an 8"x8" canvas that came already painted gold. But of course you could just paint any canvas gold with some quick paint.

Next I use PAPER Mod Podge to adhere the script page to the canvas, only coating the back of the paper and the surface of the canvas. Once I applied the paper to the canvas, I added Mod Podge to the flower cut out and the surface of the script page. Then I adhered the flowers down.
Then I just added Mod Podge to the entire surface to seal it all in and smoothed it all out with a thin flat spatula.
I next mixed some whipped paste paint medium with Martha Stewart Multi Surface Satin paint (in putty color) using a spatula and a paper plate.

I then spread the colored paste over the edges of the canvas & the edges of the cut flowers to help hide the stark divide of the papers. I was careful to make sure parts of the script showed through.
Once the paste dried, I smoothed out the loose & rough bits from the paste by just running my hands over the piece. Finally I finished off the piece by dry brushing on Martha Stewart Metallic Paint in Copper Color over the entire piece. But very lightly on the flowers.

And there you have it, my first piece officially on the DCWV Design Team
