Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest with Spellbinders (Giveaways included!)

by Megan Lloyd | 9 years ago

Hello friends! Welcome to the DCWV blog for day 3 of the Spellbinders and friends blog hop! We have 2 great projects for you today using our paper and some of the new Woodland Dies from Spellbinders.  Our projects come from 2 of our talented team members, Karla and Yolie.

Let's not delay the unveiling—here we go!

-----------------------------------------

Hi everyone, this is Karla! My project comes from the Spooky Delight stack.  In leafing through the pages, the print with the starry sky gave me a good starting point for my background. I used the dies to cut mushroom shapes from the Harvest House stack and added them on the bottom as an anchoring point for my title.  I love the texture that I got after I ran them through with the embossing plates on my artisan explorer machine. I'm saving this page for the photos of our first pumpkin patch visit later this month.

I didn't feel the need to add pumpkin embellishments anywhere because there will be plenty of pumpkins in the photo.

I've always loved mushrooms. They are super cute and as versatile as butterflies. I will include the journaling right on top of the title and to the right of the title if I need more space. I want the whole page to flow from the moon to the mushrooms. Visit my blog for more details.

Hi everyone, it's Yolie!  Here is my project—I like to call it Harvest Home Decor Canvas

Before we get into the actual project, here are the supplies I used:

Spellbinders Dies Classic Wreath S4-572
Spellbinders Dies 5" x 7" Matting Basics A #S6-001

Die cutting machine
Metallic Lustre Gold Rush by DecoArt
Canvas 8" x 10"
Paper Trimmer
Scissors
Glue
Inks
Ink daubers

Take the canvas and rub the Metallic Lustre Gold Rush around the edges, there is no need to cover it all, and apply it approximately 1 1/2" from the edge. Trim the pattern paper to 7" x 9"; score the edges with the Scor-Pal and then ink the edges and adhere it to the canvas.

Cut the wreath die on DCWV Gold Foil paper.  To create a fuller wreath, cut two or more pieces and layer your pieces.   I also used the 4" x 6" mat die to cut the purple gold dot paper and used it as an additional layer.

I fussy cut my desired sentiment from the tag sheet, inked the edges and added it to the center of the wreath.

Here's the finished Harvest House Decor Canvas:

I cut the "Autumn Blessings" sentiment from the duplicate sheet included in the Harvest House stack and then used Glue Dots to adhere it on top of the wreath.
